Persist, Perspire, Progress.  These words adorned a poster at the back of the room.  Arrows pointed from one word to another, describing a steady interchange between the three ideals.  Behind the words and arrows there was a picture of a vascular bicep in full flex.  Two posters were either side of it, one asked ‘Do you even lift?’, the letters in block capitals beneath a picture of a man lifting a bar beset with tremendous weight, the other described the idea nutrition alongside working out to achieve the body that you want.

The room was filled with treadmills, all of which pointed away from these posters toward a row of television screens which showed the 24 hour global news channel.  Slightly overweight people walked at a slow steady pace on the treadmills, occasionally sipping on juice drinks or carbonated sodas.
